This project focused on the careful restoration of the Georgian home with a contemporary “light intervention” upgrade to the fitted furniture. There was no extension to this Georgian home, so all furniture is fitted within the context of the beautiful Georgian rooms and made in white to form as a back drop and not detract from the beautiful faded grandeur of the Georgian home.
Kitchen is made from separate components and anchored around the stone monolithic island. The design is reminiscent of how the room originally laid out, but formerly with a grand dining table as the central feature of the room. Shelving is secret fitted into the existing alcoves on either side of chimney space. All wardrobes and bathroom units are made as simple walls of storage, so storage requirements of the family are met with minimal visual distraction.
Spray painted doors, carrara marble island with full cladding to form the stone monolith, and limed oak timber.
