This project focused on the careful restoration of a single story Victorian home to the high standard of nZEB (nearly zero energy building) with integration of a new open plan vaulted ceiling extension that seamlessly connects the old and new spaces.
A new open plan kitchen-living-dining space is designed with equal proportions to each of the 3 functions lending the space to become a multi-functional, general living and entertaining space. A back sliding door to utility space and wrap around units helps conceal some of the functionality of the kitchen and allow the kitchen to remain in proportion to the overall room. Material selection and craftsmanship help make secret the integrated storage in the kitchen with more natural focal points on the unobstructed view to the garden.
Oak veneered timber doors, and white quartz worktops work together with the concrete floors for a contemporary light filled space with warmth and sense of calm.
